Girls Volleyball

Congratulations to the girl’s volleyball team, winners of the Mount Saint Vincent University Tournament this weekend. Team 1 defeated Lockview in the finals in straight sets (25-22,25-17). Team 2 finished 2nd in their pool with wins over Halifax West and Holy Heart from Newfoundland and a tie with Bluefield.

If you are interested in rugby you may attend the skills sessions put on by the Truro Saints every Tuesday and Thursday at the Saints Rugby Field from 3:30-5:00.

Girls Soccer

The CEC girl’s soccer team traveled to P.E.I this weekend for the Wall of Fame Cup Tournament. The team defeated Three Oaks 2-1, defeated Harrison Trimble 3-1 and beat Charlottetown Rural 2-0. This placed the Cougars 1st in their division. The team then lost their semi-finals match 2-0 against Rural.

Boy's Soccer

The boy’s soccer team rallied in the second half to win the Northumberland Region Championship yesterday. Down 1- nil at half, the Cougars scored four straight goals to claim the title. The team advances to the provincial quarter finals next Saturday.

NSCC Open House

This is a very important announcement for students considering attending NSCC. NSCC is hosting an open house on October 21 from 2-7. If you are in Grade 11 or 12 and are interested in any program at any campus, come to the Truro NSCC with a completed paper application and transcript for free on the spot admission. This is especially important if you are interested in popular courses for which there are waitlists. As long as you meet program requirements, you will be given admission or at the very least, placed on the waitlist for admission. Application forms and transcripts can be requested at Student Services.
